Like his director, the strapping 6-foot-2 actor, knew of the fierce devotion to the BBC series, but never felt daunted by it.

 ”There was nothing to lose. If anything, I was more bemused by other people’s reactions. It  was a lovely part to play and, career-wise, a peachy part to get. I’m a huge Colin Firth fan, anyway, so I’m in good company.”
